I really don't recommend a flasher for any tank less than 4 feet long, myself. I had a few in a 38 (3 ft. long) and the male didn't have enough room...
A 6 line will be fast, and can also be a bully...but I don't think that'll be much of an issue with 3 damsels & an eel LOL. Might get some fighting...

Did you take his sand too, or buy new? Moving sand from an established tank can cause this. Keep doing water changes till you get the nitrates down.
