    I would go with the 250w's and just put a fan in the sump.

    I soak the bag for 20min to just get the temp to match. Then I put a 1/4 to 1/3 cup of tank water in bag every 15 min for 1.5 to 2 hrs to acclimate...

    +2 on that one. If it wasn't acclimated right then that would kill it. The snail was only doing what it was bread to do, clean up.

    Oppps! Wow I just noticed that. ::) 250w is probably not going to be enough. My tank is 84x23x30 and I run 3x400w MH's on mine.

    I would run the 3x 250w MH's so there won't be anything you can't keep in the tank...sps, clams..etc.

    Loud pump - help!

    Check the impeller out and make sure none of the fingers are broken off. That will make it out of balance and cause noise.
