I have seen a true perc hosting a condy. Weird, but true. That condy is looking rather pale. I would start feeding it, until it colors up.
Mine never bugged a thing, except a pygmy angel.

From what I have read, they need a very nutrient rich environment. If you are up to spot feeding everyday, then I say go for it.
+1 to alk swing. BRS recommends raising or lowering 1 dKH per 24 hrs. My acros don't even like that much of a change.
I have found the larger the fish, the easier they die to rapid changes.
