I've had mine for about 3 months and the only thing I've noticed is more polyps, but none growing outward.
Sand fleas are larger amphipods, i believe.
Amphipods are larger than copepods, but yeah, they are almost the same. I'm guessing that you used live rock. All sorts of goodies come from it!

My tank took about a month to cycle. I'm not sure if it's ready to handle any livestock yet.
