    60 gal looking for some advise

    Seems awful hard to get TOO much light in a tank, you know how bright the sun is??? I would use the MH you father gave you and spend the other money...

    Do you ever use a turkey baster for detrius?

    I use a modified MJ1200 to blow my rocks off about every month before a water change just to keep stuff from building up. Never seemd to hurt...

    It takes pressure to seat the valve and you don't want debre laying in the bottom of it causing it not to close if it was vertical. I liked it...

    I use a flap check valve and I would run the pipe to the top of the water line then angle it back down in the water and drill a hole at the water...
