    Is a 50/50 light good for macro lighting?

    Use a 6500K bulb if it is not going to be a display fuge. If it is a display fuge then a 10000K bulb might look better.

    It is good that the feathers are growing. They do move around in their tube to get the best flow they can so I would leave it and see what it does....

    It should have the feathers back by now if you have had it for a month. Mine dropped its and they were back in full glory within two weeks.

    Definitely treat the new water with a dechlorinator that treats chloramines. Get something like Seachem Prime that actually breaks the chloramine...
