I doubt it is mating behavior, most likely domination behavior and definitely mild.
For T5HO that is right there for output as long as you are using top of the line bulbs.
Too much light, they have ejected the zooxanthellae because they are getting too much food from it.
The tank will be fine. Just follow the directions and everything should work out.
If it is a stomatella you got ripped off, abalone good deal.
They eat other snails and grow to 24". They also eat hermits.
