We have threads on here from folks who have done it. I suggest you search for vodka dosing.
I have read of people doing it, just never had a chance to find out how it worked out.
Didn't know about the exploding with the water mixed in with an improper ratio, but knew about the heat.
I understand, I don't like the idea of adding CO2 to the system. I am learning to do 2 part right now, I think I will have my doses figured out...
Remove the wet/dry media a quarter at a time every week or two. Then convert over. Should not cause a cycle with seasoned live rock.

That is one heck of a lot of corals. Once they acclimate you are going to have fun keeping up on your dosing. Great selection of corals also.
