    You could go with an 8 light unit and just not use 2 bulbs if you think that SPS and clams are in your future. Otherwise just get a good six bulb...

    Protein Skimmer needed

    Eshopps PSK-150 or PSK-200. The larger one would be better if you like to stock or feed heavy. They are well made and affordable.

    I haven't heard of that. Although wiping the phyto that forms on the glass and letting back into the water column might increase their reproduction.
