An SG of 1.009 is the recommended SG for treatment of parasites such as marine ich, black ich and such. Anything above will not touch those...
It will not harm the tank, it is contagious. I would not do an intervention other than to feed quality foods with additives such as selcon and foods...
You can not cure it, it's viral. It will run it's course and go away. Please google Lymphytosis. :-)

I do not think you need to dose at this point in time. Small water changes every 2 weeks with a quality salt will be fine. Bi-weekly is too much....
