Extending lighting time I am extending the lighting time starting tomorrow by 1 hour per day. The corals got no light Saturday and about 4 hours...
T5 is better. Bulbs last longer, cost about the same, use less energy as does the ballast and have far greater PAR.
Could also be to allow the sand to denitrify.

I think so, you want the refugium to have "dirty" water. Water from the skimmer would be "clean".
It could be my 75 has 1/4" thick glass with a brace. For 6" taller it would only need 1/8" more thickness.
