    Purplish red is coralline algae, the white blob with veins looks like a sponge or tunicate, all good.

    It puts out so many gametes and they deteriorate rapidly creating a lot of waste which the bacteria then goes into a population explosion removing...

    If it goes sexual it will remove the oxygen from your tank. Keep it thinned and remove any of it that is white or turning white.

    Looks like you are right with your ID. An excess of nitrate and phosphate are the usual causes. You may have detritus accumulating in the area...

    how much did you spend so far?

    Haven't kept tabs because this is a hobby which hopefully means entertainment. Put a price on it will remove the entertainment value.
