    Try putting them in an iodine dip for 15 to 20 minutes. You will most likely need to do this 3 ofr 4 days in a row.

    Is the alk 3.6 meq or dKH. If dKH you need to get it between 8 and 12, if meq you are in the range for dKH. Buy granulated ferric oxide and run it...
