After my third wrasse jumped into my overflows, I finally decided to make covers for them. So I bought a 12"x12" sheet of 1/8" thick black acrylic...
Agreed. Do you have any pictures? Any other corals affected? Parameters?
I agree with everything you said, except caution on the LMB. They can be tough to get eating prepared foods. Mine starved to death in my 55 after it...
That should be fine bio-load wise. Scrubbing the rocks before hand will help as mentioned, but will come back if the nutrients are available.
Very light bio-load, light on feedings, RO/DI water, refugium or other nutrient export method, good skimmer, etc.
Great buys! Definitely a great deal if you got both Torch's and the Chalice for that! I have a similar Chalice. It is the fastest growing one I have...
And my wife and I took my 17 month old. She had no problem reaching into strangers bowls and grabbing candy, even though she has never had any LOL....
Yup, I do the same. My boss knows any time I need to go home for lunch, I got a new delivery 8)
Agreed X10.
Load is the difference :) I am saying full throttle for both scenarios. Then look at individual RPM points. I have graphed load on my cars before....
The main point is that flow does not directly correlate to watts. Because of the efficiency of pumps, at completely different TDH and flow you could...
Most 55 longs have tempered glass on all sides. You must have been lucky :) Edit: What Todd said!
But what you are forgetting is there is more load on the motor with increased head pressure. Think of a cars engine. Full throttle going down a hill...
Even the smaller ones should be just fine. These lights aren't that heavy. They should tell you the weight rating on the hooks just to make sure.
I tend to agree. Either use them as base rock, or cover them in corals!
Nice! I see he arrived safe and sound :)
Actually, pumps use more power when pushing against head pressure. It should be pumped against head pressure at full power.
I have never used a T5 fixture, so hopefully someone with a 4-bulb fixture can chime in. But I am thinking that should be fine for any softy,...
The same. Most softies don't require much light. I have Kenya Tree growing in a couple tanks, with 8 hours of "poor" lighting.
No idea. Seems to me it is the same basic ATC refractometer that BRS, etc, sell. I personally wouldn't trust just calibrating it with RO/DI.
