are you using RO/DI water? the phosphate are really high as well. how old is the tank?
i confirm the cb shrimp is a threat to all shrimp.... he chased my poor camel back out of the tank to his death and chases the much faster blood...
VERY simply put pH is actually a measure of hydrogen ions in the water. Alkalanity is a measure of carbonate or bicabonate in the water.

i was under the impression they are reproducing asexually or by survival you mean reproducing.

i have always had it... its jusy algae i assume. i clean it off with my magfloat.
i have the simplest form. 1 resevoir, 1 pump, and a float valve. water goes down, float valve turns on pump, pump sends water to sump. the end

I know obiviously, that rearranging the rockwork will stress the fish out somewhat but i haven't done it yet in my 90. has anyone done it and lost...
you will need a dionizer to help lower other unwated dissolved solids. my starfish sometimes sits there for 3 days in one spot.
