Canopy looks amazing; excellent work! It's like the tank was built the same time as the room :)
No problem. Other options I can think of would be a smaller Hawkfish (if you won't be doing any shrimp), a Basslet, or a tank bred Dottyback.
Fish list seems fine. All fall into the "semi-aggressive" category (except the Goby, but it can hide easy enough and likely won't be picked on), so I...
Very cool picture! Those are some awesome looking Acans :)
Nice job Alex! No more excuses for you on losses though :P
No, the pressure from the reef tank won't stop water from draining. You have the 'fuge higher than the reef tank, water will travel from high to low,...
Honestly you can't compare a Jebao WP-XX to a Koralia. They are two completely different designs (former a DC controlled powerhead with multiple...
Welcome to 3reef Mike! Seems you have a good handle on how to run a successful tank. Although I do agree with Corailline that you may want/need more...
Picture of UBERTREP???
Make sure you keep the Delete everything else you don't want :)
Looking good, and it took me a second, but the face on your Fungia is quite cool! Thanks for sharing :)
Your unknown looks to me like a closed brain that has seen better days; possibly a Platygyra.
Looks like both actually. The brown on the sand is likely diatoms, and the red patches do appear to be cyano.
Be patient. Keep monitoring both. They should both go down now that you have the live rock in there.
Well it looks like it will serve the purpose just fine, so nicely done! I am sure it was far less expensive to build it yourself, plus more rewarding...
Kenya Tree would be another option, although you will have to keep it in track so it doesn't take over the tank.
Cool pics, thank you for sharing! Love the sea star. Watch out for those Garibaldis! Heard they can be quite mean to divers near their turf :)
Blurry pic, but agreed that it does look like a blasto.
If it is a bloom, a UV sterilizer will take care of it.
I spot feed my LPS weekly with Mysis, and SPS every other week with Oyster Feast. I definitely noticed far more growth with LPS when they are fed.
