 no. that is not related
Well, for starters, I would also encourage people to stay away from bio-balls. Bio balls, like a DSB in a DT, are just a harder way of doing...
I have the aquamedic. It's worked flawlessly. I did add one way valves to make sure the tubes stayed 'primed'. I did have to replace the pump tube...
I would never encourage a DSB in a DT.
protect it from what? I don't understand where this idea comes from. do people's tank bottoms really shatter when an unsecured rock lands on a pile...
I missed this thread originally. VERY COOL. Looks, to me, like that super nasty in the latest update is just going to drain into the DT? Yuck....
not very much at all to reseed... in fact, you could probably leave none in and let the substrate do the reseeding...
I don't see any point to putting a base down. IMO, it's just a way to create pockets of dead zones. It is completely unnecessary. Put the rock...
IMO yes and won't risk cycle (just be careful removing the "dirty" rock)
i have renamed my "armour of god" zoas (which have gotten to be a nice sized colony!!) to "god of war". I just like it better ;D
can't stop the signal man
I always let it dry out thoroughly... I just do though...
good stories. I've had a bi-color blenny, red lipped blenny, and a O Clown jump. I literally caught the clown when it jumped. Scared me - caught...
I always skip the baking soda step anyway...
IMO, as any salt you buy needs to be supplemented anyway, and supplements are super duper cheap from BRS, I see no reason to pay for expensive salts....
Not using a GFCI goes against 99.99% of the relevant advise on 3reef. It is strongly encouraged by the vast majority of reefers. I will also say...
If my daylights are on for 8 or more hours, things bleach, algae grows, growth starts going in reverse... 12 hours of daylights would kill my tank....
Agreed. Also, I'd put the purple in front over the aquablue. That aquablue is very bright and will drown out the purple IME. I have a 4 bulb...
I disagree with most of the responses you have got here. There is 0 point to doing a water changer after the cycle. So, don't do one. I am not...
