I was speaking of a Koralia Nano 250 circ pump. May be a bit much, but I have one in my 8g nano. Do some water changes, %10 twice a week until...
Well, atleast you can rid yourself of the algae now.
I have no idea why anyone would recommend that combo for a r eef tank ...
K Nano may do the trick!
I would say get rid of the 6500k no matter what. I know the pain, I have a brand new Current 6500k in the garage, just saving it for a planted tank....
Bulbs for sure...
They work for general range of readings, however they aren't as precise as other kits available in my experience.
I found it dead on my clam's mantle. I think the clam killed it by crushing it. He was big for an Acro eater...must have enjoyed my corals.
Finding Memo played a big roll for me. Shhh, don't tell ne one.
Good start! Birdnest needs some more extension? Whatcha got on the back wall? ;)
No kidding. Slow and steady wins the race.
Steve, good point with baseline.
If you were around here, I would give you these corals...
Kh 3.5-4.2 meq/l Anacropora grows like a weed and is branching rather then just plating.
I remember my first 55g reef....oh the days....days of confusion and not knowing wtf I was doing! LOL!
Monti will do fine without a doubt as long as Ca, Mg and Kh are at proper levels.
They corals I mentioned will grow under power compacts. Birds nest are very senstive to Mg levels and need CLEAN water to get good polyp extension....
Stags are a little harder to maintain then the easy guys I mentioned. Are you using the 2x54w t5 for your light or more?
Honestly I would do a Anacropora or a Monti/plating coral. I have an Anacropora like this branching guy here but MUCH greener... I have frags of it...
Nice work so far! You could raise the water level in the 55g a bit maybe?
