Well, it's been a while since I posted some pictures of my tank. Things are going really well with it. My corals have finally started to fill out and...
I guess just the luck of the click, as always though, your info is right on.
Really nice looking tank. Do you have any videos of the tank during daylight hours?
Yes, you can get one for about $50. Look on ebay or check Dr. Foster and Smith, that's where I got mine at for about $40.
If you want to lower your nitrates, feed less, wet skim and watch what else you add to the tank.
It's hard to judge weight without context and type of rock? What size is the tank? What type of rock is it?
How did he come about these fish? If they are actually ORA clowns, then the going rate is about $120 for a Grade A picasso and about $60 for a Grade...
It's not a bad deal, but I guess it depends on the state of the equipment. Also, I would use fine grained sand, not crushed coral as substrate. Too...
They have always been popular. Easy to keep, great colors and huge variety. If there is any "now" coral, it's chalices IMO.
Why the deep sand bed? IMO it's not worth it. To much hassle if you ever upgrade or want to reaquascape or disturb it in any way. I have about 1-2"...
My best guess is the trigger, the other may occasionally peck at it, but IME will not eat it.
I think you are really risking it, nothing in this hobby is cheap. I don't know anyone who used silicate based sand on this site. Some people have...
Also keep in mind that if yo don't have a large bio-load, there's not much for it to skim.
Great post.
Nice frags, those are definitely small colonies.
I don't know if you are referring to the link I posted, or just speaking generally, but I believe the Mighty Mite is a full sized system, just not...
I highly doubt it is your RO system. Something probably died, which resulted in more waste in the tank, raising ammonia levels, killing other things...
Also, before you put it back in or start to cycle it, I would soak it in some bleach. I"ve seen caulerpa come back from just hot water.
How much rock do you have in there now? And what sized tank?
Looks like coraline that is dead. Everytime I"ve cured rock, I get specks like that. When coraline dies it changes color for some reason. I've had...
