They can live with that sand, but not in that small of a tank. Try a fighting conch as a sand cleaner.
They get huge. One of our LFSs has one that wouldn't even fit in our 55 and it hasn't split. It's like 2' x 2' and tall.
Well, I see an LPS there. Looks like a Caulastrea (candy cane or trumpet coral). We have one that's doing great, one that's doing not so great....
Always wanted to go to Ambergris Caye, and I don't even dive LOL. Thanks for sharing!
Favia is an LPS, not a soft coral, but it should still be fine in your tank.
I guess cuz Joe's a guy? I have no idea. Actually he did that with a guy friend of ours too. Apparently if you're a stranger you must be right,...
Sounds like us. This is his first tank. Of course, he doesn't listen to me about a lot of stuff, but so now when it comes to livestock he...
Yeah, clean up crew won't matter. I had a sand sifting goby in mine & it was still dirty looking. The salt & pepper looks great, though.
Nah, a piece of nori rubberbanded to a rock. Actually I moved some dragon's breath up there and they went after that for a bit, but there's still...
I assumed it was a typo since he'd already listed nitrites.
I wouldn't use undergravel filter plates, they'll trap detritus under them. Try what's called "plastic egg crate", that seems to be what most people...
I had a male and 2 female Carpenters before. You could easily put them in a 55. Just make sure it's completely covered or they'll carpet surf.
Check your ammonia. What size is this tank and what do you have for water surface agitation?
I would guess a spinoid worm that's not in a hole or tube.
I had Tahitian Moon in my first tank, it was magnetic. Black shows every little spec of detritus and chip of rock on it. Mine was no longer pure...
Don't know what thermocol is either, sorry.
I have mine trained. When they get too hungry, they come to the right front corner & I put algae on a rock for them LOL.
Gravel (I'm assuming it's crushed coral?) will hold lots of bad gunk. If it's shallow and you don't vacuum it regularly that could cause issues. It...
Just ease them along by keeping up on removing when you can, not feeding too heavy. When you start a tank, there's lots of crap in the rocks and sand...
My SO is a big guy, I have to use a big brush to paint him with LOL.
Separate names with a comma.
