    Carbon is a organic adsorption media. Chemi-pure is a good carbon. It has some some de-ionizing resins, sort of like what you'd find in DI canister...

    +2 and whatever you do, don't cheap out if you go the HOB route. Floors and carpets are much more expensive than a good skimmer.... Sump is safer.
