It really depends on the fish. Someone will say they successfully kept a shark in a reeftank, but that doesn't mean anyone can tell you what they...
+1 especially the "BETTER FIX", but make sure to buy some calibration fluid :)
Well, at least your tank decline was for a good cause! Moving established colonies can always be risky, but definitely looks like your picking up...
Sorry, I can't really see from the picture, but this is a good worm reference: Worm Hitch Hikers
Insufficient light presents very, very similarly to pinched mantle IME. I've found 150-200 PAR to be the absolute minimum for long term success with...
"Super energy efficient .06 watt LEDs" LOL, I have a feeling whopping .06W LEDs won't cut it, even for a fuge.... I agree with cosmo, look into...
Looks good Greg. What happened to the tank, if you don't mind me asking?
The idea that nitrate reduction occurs in lower region is mostly an old wives tale IMHO. The upper regions is as capable, if not more capable of...
Says who? Sea Chem? Maybe, it would be interesting to see independent testing though, but it does seem to work. It doesn't seem to work noticeably...

Too bad, definitely hope to hear good thing on these in the future though  Although, I have doubts I'll ever own one...
yup, and looks like a nice little, well established piece of live rock there )
Yeah, great tank! There was another good write up about it in coral magazine last summer IIRC.
The Ehiems are really great pumps, they will last a heck of a lot longer than Quiet Ones and should be more efficient. They are more expensive, but...
+2 and whatever you do, don't cheap out if you go the HOB route. Floors and carpets are much more expensive than a good skimmer.... Sump is safer.
^+1 also, oils will interfere with skimming, so, it is common to skim less directly after feeding.
It does not say that. The "W" stands for "wide" not "watts". LEDs and Halides have similar total output per watt, so, it is about the same as a...
The trend now is 3W, although, this may be misguided.
