I would think no. If it does they will usually warn you about it in the directions for the medication. Maybe some one else will know more.

It is really up to the individual. But in the longer tanks I agree with Otty, I like the 2 islands and the center open look.
Some pet stores sell them, if not you can get them at a craft store. Just make sure not to get the laminated kind. You want natural shells.
+1 there is no such thing as cured base rock. If it was cured its live rock, that could be why you are having the little cycle. Base rock is dry rock.
Go with the glass one, as 2in10 said the digital ones can be inaccurate. Especially the Coral Life ones. I have never seen one that was right.
Oh forgot, just make sure to have spare shells or some times they might kill snails for their shells.
I have about 10 of them in my 55reef. They never bother anything. IMO I think the are fine, fun to watch too.

Thats not always true. I tested my friends brand new hydrometer against my refractometer, and it said his tank was 1.024 and it was actually 1.027....
