    Brown algae??

    Its part of the cycle if diatoms. Two weeks after mine cycled I added turbo snails and red tipped hermit crabs. Snails went to town on it ;D

    It might be wet skimming. If you want something "thicker" you need to adjust the air valve (if it has one not sure on that model) so It can dry skim....
