    Yeah, you may have to go 4. My frien has one stock 5" AWL and it is like a spotlight near the top, but it spreads probably 3" either way as you go...

    The 1 watters get hot though, and it would equate to the same since there are so many. Th OP stated he wanted to increase his lighting pwer as well.

    That might not be enough to absorb the heat. You want a true heatsink with multiple flanges. Heat is an LEDs worst enemy.

    No....You could run 3 with 70* optics. I've seen them 10" above the water covering a 24"x24" area. Just switch out the stock 40* for 70*
