    can you have mangroves fully submerged?

    From what I have heard from john at RC they need the tops out of water. But I have none so I cant be 100% on that.

    Yes the little purple dots are coralline. Just keep your Cal and Alk up and it will spread. It does spread slow, but soon it will be everywhere.

    Wont hurt fish. Most corals do fine. I shut mine off for 2 or 3 days whenever any algae starts to get bad. Everything including my corals do fine.

    It sounds like a mini brittle star. They are fine. Will just stick out there little arms and feed off of stuff in the water. They don't get big.
