    I have had great experiences with the dwarf cerith snails..They only get around 1/2-3/4 of an inch long so you need a bunch of them. They get down...

    Closed loop is just a pump behind the tank. Water is pumped out of the tank..then back into the tank. It's a pretty simple setup. Just have one inlet...

    Can I have 2 overflows and make one slower?

    Could you just do one bigger overflow and "T" it off with a valve on one side to restrict some of the flow? Might be cheaper than buying two...
