    For the 55, if you have a sump, an Eshopps PSK-100 will work great. If you don't, go with the hang-on-back PSK-100H.

    I would just add regular "dead" sand. But it really does need at least a 4" sandbed IMO. A warmer species may be more suitable as you mentioned...
