You never get spearers as hitchhikers. They make burrows in the sand instead of rocks.
I don't think a couple of pounds will make a difference, especially being cured as long as you keep the rock in water you probably won't have much...
I agree with the others. I would just add base rock. You can get sweet looking base rock pretty cheap from reefcleaners.org
