Copper wont effect the Bacteria, unless the dose is ridiculously high. But it would kill everything in the tank long before it effects the bacteria.

160+??? Nitrates?? You should have your water tested to verify the result. If it is accurate then I would say something is very wrong to cause that...
Yes its reef safe.
It all normal Clown behavior. The like to swim in the current, and will sleep in some pretty weird spots, upside down etc..

Velvet looks more like a goldish powder covering the fish. Ich has the white spots you described.

Ya, even if you did do it, I don't think your gonna get enough heat exchange out of that unit. You'll get more by just blowing a fan over the top of...
Or if your lazy like me, you can get garlic additives at your LFS. I use Kent's Garlic Extreme.
You can get some media to remove the Nitrates. But 20 isn't a problem, especially for a fish only as I see you have no corals.
See if the person with the rock can put them in a plastic tub with some water for the trip. If its not to late. :)
