Pistol Shrimp bury in the sand, not shells. And I think you sort of have to cycle the rock if it is going in an established tank.
Your tank is too small for a Betta to live comfortably, just likr it is too small for any saltwater fish. We have been through this. MAYBE 3 neon...
That fixture uses old 1w LEDs and no heatsink. Its no good.

Use the hole method but add a peice of rigid airline tubing to prevent it being clogged so easily.
The aero pump is tiny and is used in the hydor slim skim and cpr hob. It has gotten good reviews thus far.
