    Yeah, you definitely want to change it every 2 weeks. Algaes make quite a bit of those yellowing products, so your carbon will clog up on the quicker...

    I can guess it may have been a pH problem, which is related to oxygen problems but has the potential to affect fish quicker than elevated CO2 levels.

    SG is also better for use in quite a few equations relating to saltwater tanks, since there's no absolute 0 that can throw off the equations.
