I also use a small CUC in my fuge. the detrus is quickly consumed... I feel its the best way to go
it is just pulling charged particles out of the water... similar to the way a protein skimmer works. It is like a concentrated layer of dissolved...

the LS should be taken out... the whole point of sand in a fuge is to have a DSB and with a HOB filter its pretty hard to do a DSB. I say take it...
dont think any of those two are ora red planet... the first one is encrusting and the second one has some very small polyps and a different growth...
hmm well reducing photo period is actually a myth, no benefits for short halide time. skimmer is important to remove DOC... you will see a great...

what brand halides do you run?
If you have one, where do you keep it? I hear that high up turns it all red and the lower it is, the greener it gets. experiences anyone?
