acrylic is what is always used for a sump, it will not change.
plus one, you dont know what kind of fumes plastic will put in yout tank, but you can buy sheets of acrylic for pretty cheap.

when an anemone splits it rips its foot, it can definately recover it does it in nature all the time. just keep water quality good.
