I had a similar issue on mine. I really had to crank down on the screw to get it to read 35ppt. But as mentioned, as long as you calibrate to the...
+1 The only issue with bettas is when they are kept together, or when you have other fish with long flowing fins. Same thing with angels. I kept a...
This makes my little 55 look pathetic :( Awesome video though, thanks for sharing!!
I actually had to remove the reflector as there was not enough room under my stand. I am using a 13W (IIRC) 5000k CFL. Total investment of $15 I...
Cleaner wrasse should only be put in well stocked, large (like 300 gallon!) tanks. These are one fish that are usually better left in the ocean :(
There is at least 1 thread going on the Hanna Checker where Hanna admits it is only meant to give you a rough idea of your phosphate level. I have...
That is basically how I have my sump setup, and it seems to be working well for me. However if you search for other setups, you will see that a lot...

Best post of the week right here ;D

I have a Hydor Smart Wave and don't have any issues with it :-/ Works exactly as expected, and I got it for under $50 :)
Nice pickup, thanks for sharing a good deal :)
Possibly (or at least similar). See here: Aquarium Photometers & Water Testing: Hanna Phosphate Photometers On sale for only $150 LOL. Even those...

More importantly, nice job figuring out how to upload and share photos ;D But seriously, yes, that is a sweet betta!

The pump I listed (Marineland NJ3000) can be had for ~$67 including shipping. Max flow 775 gph (600 gph @ 2 ft.; 575 gph @ 3 ft.; 525 gph @ 4 ft)....
Mythbusters also busted the 5 second rule :hehe:
+1 I have (2) 750's and (1) 1050 in my 55. Total with sump return of about 50x turnover :)
But when I hold my 3 month old, I don't shock her ;) Small mV potential, and feeling shocked are two very different things.
