thanks for the info, how should i mount them should i suspend them? also can three grow any sps? or would 4 or 5 be more sufficient?

if i am correct ornamental shrimp dont have long lives, im talking a year max. that is what may have happened
it could have been many things, agression in the tank, stray electric current, bad water etc.
i wouldnt run it on the hex unless you plan to keep it on the hex, just put it directly into the tank you dont need to test drive it
rearrange the rocks and shut off the lights. also a 90 gallon is too small for those two tangs, they each have a suggested tank size of 90 gallons...

a failed molt is due to low calcium levels, since i do not belive your tank has any coral and you are probably not dosing calcium this may have been...
that tank is too small for two tangs, i hate to be that guy but part of the territorial issue is not enough room, hippo tangs need at least a 90

well the only way to know if it is sps capable is to try. get a small acropa and see how it does
in my experience when i put halides on my 40 gallon it onnly went up one degree. well also im in colorado but i think youll be fine
