Maybe a dendro, or a more unusually colored euphyllid.
You could probably do a scoly or trachy coral. Lots of reds and blues in those families. Acans too, lots of red morphs.
No, Lifereef uses a U tube style overflow, just like Eshopps and the other good overflow vendors. The weir one needs a pump to keep them...
Totally missed that! I would recommend removing it too. They really need a bit more space, even when small.
Not a whole lot that I know of. I actually know of none.
Yeah, rinsing it will pull off a decent amount of the detritus that's built up. It'll make the cycle a bit shorter, hopefully.
Your tank looks very good. I had to do a similar restructuring for my sun coral. I know it can be a pain, but it's totally worth it if it helps the...
Lifereef is good. So is eshopps. They have the same design. Eshopps will restart after stopping as well. I just wouldn't go with a weir style...
I beat cyano by letting cyano grow in my fuge, and cleaning out the cyano in my DT. Fire w/ fire.
I would try a torch coral. My true percs love my torch. When I first put them in, they also considered my long tentacle plate coral before deciding...
I think they may recognize a color of shirt, or some more broad criteria. I know my fish freak out when they see the red cup (feeding), but not when...
Nice pics! What kind of camera?
Take them out about 1/3 at a time, and clean them off. You want to keep detritus from building up on them.
Um, yes, feel bad for the linckia. It's like getting a tang, not knowing that it eats algae, and never trying to feed it.
Ah, that's kinda lame. You could always do an overflow box for a sump. It's not the best solution, but is an option.
If you want, you can keep them. If this is a new tank, they'll likely die off anyway. Sponges capture organics from the water, so they can be useful...
Well, I'll say that this isn't necessarily true. Live rock has porous surfaces, and has the potential to develop anaerobic bacteria that can remove...
Sponges don't tend to release stuff like that into the water. It's more likely to be a worm or snail in the holes you mentioned.
The pH is an indication of oxygen levels in this case. It's fluctuating when the dissolved oxygen levels go down. I agree with the idea of running...
It's much easier to do the sump while you have an empty tank. If you have any trouble, there's no livestock to worry about while you troubleshoot....
