    Yeah, the silicates are the only part that scare me... Phosphate is readily removed by algae scrubbers... Silicate on the other hand isn't. Hmm.....

    It looks to be a strong light. XP-E cree bulbs are top notch. Just make sure you dim them. they are made to punch through more water than you have....

    +1 to all the above. Evaporation will lower the sump water level.. Like mike said.. the overflow determines the water level in the tank.
