    It's not a Calappidae. It's a Matutidae. They're aggressive predators that can swim and catch fish. I would remove it.

    Snails are a bit sensitive to use for a cycle. I would throw in a quarter of a raw shrimp from the supermarket for the cycle. You need a pH test kit....
