    I didn't realize they grew that large obviously.....it hasn't grown at all since I've had it.... I just looked up LA recommends minimum tank size...

    ^^+1 this is a great way of doing it actually (1/2 and then 1/2). I would recommend you remove the old sand bed or take it out and rinse it really...
