I think it's going to be hard to ID without a picture which I'm sure will be near impossible to get......maybe try looking it up on a hitch-hiker...
I know many reefers keep them and seem to love them! I think they're very cool but a bit too pricey for my wallet.....

I would suggest doing another water change and trying to manually remove or siphon out the red slime. How large is your tank?
