    That sucks! Sounds like thats a shotgun issue. You don't have to know guns to know that the sound of a shotgun cocking in the dark would stop anybody...

    link doesn't work, but if its FOWLR, it doesn't matter a whole lot, just try to stay away from "grow lights" and white heavy lights due to algae...

    Its your tank, its not gonna kill it, but why? Go get some distilled from Sams or something. The small amount that would cost will be worth it. IMO....

    I wouldn't, a lot of the nasty in the city water will prob soak up into your rocks and sand and take months to leech out, causing ongoing algae...

    IMO, yes, they should. they help buffer the water and remove toxins, other nasties. not necessary, but a pretty good idea.
