    How big is your tank? I don't think you'd have to do a 50% all at once! Why not spread it out and do like 4 20% changes over a few days?

    sump problem

    If its you're sump and the hole is high up, it shouldn't need much of a seal, as water shouldn't really be that high in your sump very often!

    I'd def remove the glass top and build an easy mesh top cover from LOWES or homedepot! That's an almost must for you! i'd keep the light splash...

    it hurts the gas exchange and light getting in! IMO its a no brainer that glass tops are aweful! The only time i'd have one is with a open sump and...

    I'd keep the light splach guard knowing ya have to clean it every other day! As far as the tank cover, lose it for sure! Too much work + too much...

    103 gallon! def a schooling/tang tank! could prob set up a different level of light zones to help with cost and growth! Alot of options!

    Why pay the money for live sand when you're tank is already set up? I'd also look into miracle mud! I've talked to a ton of people that swear by it!...
