    Yes.The age of the tank really makes no difference. Excess nutrients are the cause.

    They don't eat zooxanthellae. They eat algae and detritus.The only thing they can do to corals is block light from reaching the coral.

    If you have cyano you have nutrients. Lowering bioload or increasing nutrient removal methods are what you need. Testing is moot.
