I thought it said 10,000 gallons per week. I don't think my house has enough water pressure to make that much water per week.
I also had them spawn with no problems. I didn't know they did until they started popping up all over my tank.

You can actually have them pretty high without much change in lighting. Light will penetrate the air without nearly as much fall off as you will see...

Mine swam around like that every night for awhile at lights off. I think he was just making sure there wasn't anything new to eat in the tank.
It's always good to plan ahead. I run a skimmer rated for over 200 gallons on my 30 just in case.
