    Possible to change filtration systems?

    If you can transfer the filter material from the Penguin to the Aqueon then yes. Also you could run them simultaneously for a couple of weeks.

    Too much light causing algae

    You should be able to keep LPS and softies. SPS will need to be at the top of your rocks and under the reflector.
