    even if they were bristle worms they are a pretty good scavengener and pretty harmless they only go after dead or dying creatures and clean up left...

    what kind of sand do you use?

    stay with the fine sand it actually holds more bacteria for breaking down things and keeping your tank in balance, with courser sand and bigger...
