i think the lighting needs more questioning, because if it is T8 i doubt you will be keeping anything for very long.
I dont think the yellow tailed damsel is that bad, especially by its self. Mine eats any flat worm that might crop up so he's benefical to a degree...

Funky! Its interesting, LEDs are popping up everywhere now, all these small style tanks seem to come with LED lighting!
Of course i cycled my first tank with a yellow tail damsel - well it was a pico, so i actually went through three, the third one surviving!! :P

i didnt think scarlet hermits did any damage to any coral?? If the nub has gone missing, it may have deterioated from the stress of being thrown...
