    I know it is bacterial but that is all I know. Sorry about losing a loved coral. I found out about this after researching why mine were fading.

    Pull the ric immediately. It will not recover and yes it could spread. Also if you are not running carbon do so immediately. Rics emit a toxin...

    Persistent ammonia problem

    Bio wheels do not produce very good bacterial colonies. I would suggest replacing the filter with a conventional HOB like Aqua Clear.
