    Mag ballast do seem to last a lot longer, but use a lot more electricity, as stated are picky on bulbs, and run a lot hotter than an e-ballast....

    how do you clean your filter socks?

    I do it by eye, 1/2 cup to a gal of water give or take.. won't hurt it if a strong mix, just have to rinse it a couple of times..
