Light spread is the area covered with bright light from the bulb. I don't think it will be on the bulb.
Go to www,Reefcleaners.org and fill out their custom CUC form. They will give a great recommendation.
Get one Aquablue Special and one Blue Plus.
You should be OK with weekly water changes for softies. SPS and clams will require the big 3 kits. LPS will if you have a lot of them.
I would say no more than 2 would be needed. Base it off of the light spread of each bulb.

More than plenty, you will most likely want to raise your fixture to 24" to 30" above your sand. Get 2 ATI Blue Plus, 1 ATI Purple Plus and 1 ATI...

Check with the manufacturer on the recommended water height.
2 bulbs would be plenty for a FO/FOWLR tank. I would go with 4 bulbs for a reef tank to bring out all the colors possible.
